Electron emission from a pyroelectric crystal excited using infrared laser light and its X-ray source application have been studied. The maximum X-ray energies from the counter copper electrode with LiNbO$_3$ and LiTaO$_3$ crystals excited by 0.89 W Nd:YLF laser were 36 and 39 keV, respectively. The X-ray intensities with LiNbO$_3$ and LiTaO$_3$ crystals were 74 and 233 MBq, respectively. Electron beam from the LiTaO$_3$ crystal was self-focused by the ring charge at the cylindrical crystal edge and its focal distance from the surface of the LiTaO3 crystal was approximately 6 mm. |
