Direct mapping of Poincare sphere using weak measurement with optical vortex

(in English) We propose a method to directly determine a two-dimensional quantum state using the weak measurement with the Laguerre Gaussian mode as a probe state, which has the phase singularity in the center. In our method, the qubit state on the Bloch sphere is directly mapped onto the position of the phase singularity and detected from a single image. We experimentally demonstrate the direct determination of the polarization state from CCD images and confirm the simple geometrical relationship called as stereographic projection between the position of the phase singularity and the polarization state on the Poincare sphere. Our work will contribute to quantum metrology and foundational quantum physics.
