Interference-Aware Channel Segregation Based Dynamic Multi-Channel Assignment

(in English) In wireless networks whose available radio-frequency bandwidth is limited, the co-channel interference (CCI) limits a transmission quality since the same channel must be reused at spatially-separate access points (APs) or base stations (BSs). Therefore, the channels must be reused so as to minimize the CCIs. Recently, we proposed an interference-aware channel segregation based dynamic channel assignment (IACS-DCA) which can form a channel reuse pattern in a distributed manner and minimize CCIs affecting ambient APs. IACS-DCA allows each AP to use only one channel. Therefore, the channel reuse pattern created by IACS-DCA is not optimal in terms of spectral efficiency since the distance between the co-channels becomes too long. In this paper, we propose an interference-aware channel segregation based dynamic multi-channel assignment (IACS-DMCA) which permits AP to use multiple channels satisfying a acceptable interference level. We show, by computer simulation, that IACS-DMCA improves the spectral efficiency compared to IACS-DCA and forms stable channel reuse pattern.
