An electrically switchable reflector which switches reflection level using pin diodes was implemented on a dielectric substrate. The pin diodes have large resistance and capacitance without DC bias, while they have small resistance and inductance with DC bias. The reflector uses this characterization for electrically switching. The reflector implemented on dielectric substrate was designed and fabricated. The reflection coefficient of the reflector was able to be switched between less than -25 dB and more than -0.8 dB around 5 GHz.
