For the spread of multimedia applications, high speed wireless communication techniques are necessary to transmit a large amount of data within a very short time. Millimeter wave wireless system, WiGig (Wireless Gigabit Alliance), provides multi-gigabit/s data rate in short distance transmission scenarios. However, the coverage is limited by the characteristics of millimeter wave. In this paper, we propose a millimeter wave multiuser multiple-input and multiple output (MU-MIMO) system utilizing parasitic antenna elements (PAE) arrays with several pre-designed patterns; and the channel efficiency can be improved by a simple pattern selection method. |
