Echo-Tracking Assessment of Carotid Artery Diameter in Patients with Cardiac Surgery

(in English) In order to measure the degree of the aortic stenosis, and to evaluate success or failure of aortic valve replacement, the pressure gradient between the left ventricle to the aorta is used. The aortic valve pressure gradient is easy to be affected in hemodynamics such as the ejection pressure of the heart and instantaneous arrhythmia. In this study, in order to find the different indexes to the aortic valve pressure gradient, using the carotid artery diameter change, we examined the maximum gradient of the carotid diameter change, diameter ratio of the carotid diameter change and the arrival time of the maximum peak. As the result, it was proven that there was a significant difference on these indexes between preoperation and postoperation.
