Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper presents a new technique to measure Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of a multiple antenna transmitting system which employs two or more antennas in a communication. The measurement can be carried out with conventional scalar E-field probes. For the system with two-element array antenna, only three measurements with different relative phase combinations of the elements are necessary to evaluate the SAR. Any other relative phase combinations of the antennas will be estimated from measured E-fields. Fundamental concepts, numerical and experimental validations will be presented carefully to analyze the proposed technique and verify its correctness.
