Integrated Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation Considering Overhead for Aggregated EPON System

(in English) As increasing of network speeds (capacities), it has become more important to reduce network power consumption. In passive optical networks, reducing the buffer size in aggregation layer-2 switches by using the integrated dynamic bandwidth allocation technique is an effective solution, but it can lead to the decrease of bandwidth efficiency. In this report, we propose a novel integrated dynamic bandwidth allocation technique that avoids this decrease. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can attain almost 2.5 times higher bandwidth efficiency compared to the conventional scheme.
