The analog mobile communication system (the first generation) was adopted for the circular radio zone configuration. The antenna system for the mobile base station was designed omnidirectional radiation pattern in the horizontal plane, and multiplexer system. Afterwards, the diversity antenna and the beam tilting technology by system requirements had been progressed.
The digital mobile communication system (the second generation) was allocated dual frequency band (800MHz and 1500MHz). As for the base station antennas were designed the dual frequency antennas, mainly.
This report is described the background of the development for the base station antennas using the first generation and the second generation system. |
