To realize User-Centric Wireless Networks which integrates various wireless systems on a unified hardware platform toward easy and flexible network connections for users, we examine a multi-band power amplifier (PA) and digital predistortion (DPD) to compensate for nonlinear distortion. In general, output levels of the signals amplified simultaneously by the PA are different due to the nature of different wireless systems and especially when power control technique is employed. The nonlinear distortion generated on each band has different characteristics when the relationship for frequency bands of the amplified signals is harmonics. In this paper, we propose a dual-band DPD technique for simultaneous dual-band amplification with harmonic relationship. Moreover, we consider the characteristic of the distortion generated by the dual-band amplification with different output levels, and evaluate the performance of the proposed technique by computer simulation. |
