One of the problems in wireless power transfer with magnetically coupled resonance is a decrease in transmission efficiency due to a misalignment between the receiving coil and the transmitting coil. One of the
solutions is to array the transmitting coils, and we proposed previously the design method which provides high transmission efficiency at one operating frequency regardless of receiving position. In this paper, the proposed design method is applied to a linear array of three transmitting coils and then the transmission efficiency of the array is compared with that of array for which the conventional method is used. Next, the methods of feeding the transmitting coils are discussed. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is examined by the experiment. As a result, high transmission efficiency and extended receiving area are demonstrated in using the 3-element transmitting linear array where only one element is fed and other two elements are parasitic, thus verifying the validity of the proposed method. |
