Application of Exhaustive Analysis to Tsunami Evacuation Planning
Tomohisa Yamashita, Itsuki Noda (AIST) AI2013-45
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we apply an exhaustive analysis with a pedestrian
simulation environment to huge-scale pedestrian flow in evacuating
against tsunami. The exhaustive analysis is a method for understanding
the tendency of behavior of a social system based on simulation results
under various conditions. The purpose of the exhaustive analysis is not
only searching the optimal solutions but also revealing stability of the
optimal solutions and difference between optimal and worst cases. Our
simulation environment consists of the CrowdWalk pedestrian simulator
and the PRACTIS simulation controller. CrowdWalk is based on a one-
dimensional space model for high speed calculation. PRACTIS carries out
an exhaustive and efficient analysis in a cluster environment to support
effective decision-making, enabling pedestrians to be guided according
to various criteria. With the exhaustive analysis with a pedestrian
simulation environment we verify evacuation plan of ten thousand persons
against tsunami from the point of view of overlapping of evacuation
routes.
