Influence of posture in co-dining conversation -- Comparison between stand-up and seated conversation over meal --

(in English) It is known that conversation over meal is better than the one without it. We often have a banquet when we socialize. We have two styles for such co-dining social activity; stand-up and seated. However we do not know if these styles matter for conversation. Therefore we have conducted an experimental study to investigate their differences. Findings are that the stand-up style 1) increases the number of utterances, 2) increases the number and total quantity of nods and laughs, 3) makes single utterance shorter, and 4) helps crisp and vibrant conversation as a result.
