Life Time Prolongation of PARC-based Wireless Sensor Networks by Mobile Sink Method

(in English) In wireless sensor networks constructed by battery-powered terminals, in order to prolong the lifetime of networks, it is necessary to save the power consumption of terminals.
Clustering schemes have been proposed to improve the efficiency of multi-hop communication in wireless sensor networks.
However, even if using these methods, the hot spot problem occurs at terminals in the vicinity of the sink, which causes the batter depletion problem and the sink cannot collect sensor data.
In order to cope with this problem, we introduce a mobile sink method for the PARC-based clustering method which has been proposed in our work.
In this paper, the mobile sink periodically moves around plural data collecting places a prior determined. We optimize data collection frequency at each data collection point in order to balance the load of terminals. We also show the effectiveness of our method by simulation experimentations.
