We have been proposing a system that informs surrounding people of the cognitive status of a driver. In this study, a web questionnaire (528 participants) about whether our proposed system is accepted socially or not was carried out in North America. As a result of the questionnaire, 24% of the respondents replied that they did not want to provide their cognitive condition. Meanwhile 19% of the respondents did not want to provide information about the vehicle movement information (speed, acceleration and direction of movement of the vehicle). In addition, 34% of the respondents did not want to provide the drivers personal information (gender and age). Considering the results, the idea of informing surrounding people of the cognitive status of a driver may be accepted in North America. The results are similar to those we conducted previous year in Japan. |
