Trajectory information will be a basis of the future air traffic management. Indices associated with the complexity and safety of airspace would be required for airspace design and air traffic management related studies. The Resilience proposed by the EUROCONTROL is a safety index. The index uses information on the relative distance and headings for a pair of aircraft. This can be interpreted as a measure of the degree of resilience for a potential safety significant event. Since Resilience index does not use aircraft speed information it does not account for overtaking. It seems to be more essential to use model parameters on the closest point of approach and the time to the closest point when dealing with a potential collision. This paper proposes a method of modeling for an alternative resilience index. This paper briefly shows mathematical modeling and indicates its characteristics by calculated examples. |
