The measurement of ferrite permeability has conventionally been conducted for a material formed in toroidal shape. This method needs the destructive and tedious reforming for the ferrite sheet, and no data has been reported in the frequency range of inductive power transfer. This article reports a simple and non-destructive measurement method of ferrite sheet permeability applicable in LF band, which is accomplished by measurement and simulation of reactance for a coil placed on a multi-layer of the ferrite sheet and a conducting ground. The possibilities and the limitations are discussed.
