Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper proposes time division multiplexing (TDM) based reference signal (RS) multiplexing for the non-orthogonal multiplexing employing Faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)/offset quadrature amplitude modulation (OQAM). Accurate channel estimation is essential for FTN using turbo soft interference canceller (SIC). The proposed concept is to divide resource elements (REs) within a physical resource block (PRB) pair into orthogonal RE multiplexing region and non-orthogonal RE multiplexing region by TDM to avoid inter-symbol interference and inter-subcarrier interference incurred from FTN. Then, the RSs for channel estimation are multiplexed in the REs in the orthogonal RE region. By the link-level simulations, we show the TDM based RS multiplexing can achieve the accurate channel estimation such that the loss in the required average received signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR) for satisfying the average block error rate from the case with ideal channel estimation is suppressed to within approximately 2 dB.
