Automatic measurement of core pitch of fan-in fan-out parts for multi-core fiber

(in English) In the practical use of the multi-core fiber, fan-in and fan-out parts must be used at input and output ends. If core pitches of fan-out parts does not match to the pitches of multi-core fibers, the connection loss becomes large. The number of core pitches are 12 for 7-core fiber and 42 for 19-core fiber. Thus, it is necessary to measure the core pitches of fan-out parts in a precise manner and in a short amount of time. We tried automatic measurement method and found that measurement accuracy is sufficiently high.
