Phase sensitive amplification (PSA) that utilizes low-dispersion highly nonlinear fiber as the nonlinear optical material can squeeze quadrature phase component of an optical signal with high a gain-extinction ratio larger than 25dB. Using the new type of PSA, we succeeded de-multiplexing a QPSK signal into two BPSK signals carrying the orthogonal phase components. |
