[Poster Presentation] Proposal and evaluation of the statistical test using the weak value amplification.
Yuki Susa (Tokyo Tech), Saki Tanaka (Keio Univ.)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The weak value amplification (WVA) technique is expected as a method for precise measurement based on the ``weak measurement" proposed by Y. Aharanov. The measurement result depends on the coupling constant and the ``weak value",which can be arbitrarily large by tuning the pre- and
postselected states of the measured system. This gives the amplification effect in the case of the weak coupling.Recently, the parameter estimation accuracy of the interaction strength with the amplification technique has been addressed. However, the discussion on the statistical test for the interaction detection has not been satisfactory. In this work, we study the detection capability of the WVA technique from the aspect of the statistics.
We propose a reasonable testing method in the physical and statistical senses and found that the weak measurement with the weak value lager than 1 makes the type 2 error small.
