[Poster Presentation] Effect of discretization spacing on reproduction accuracy in wave field synthesis

(in English) Wave field synthesis (WFS) and a principle of boundary surface control (BoSC) etc. have been proposed to realize a reproduction of sound field in a three-dimensional volume. These methods necessitate a control of sound pressure and/or its derivative at discretized points that are distributed on a boundary surface surrounding the volume to be reproduced. However, it is difficult to realize a physically accurate sound field reproduction, because, especially in high frequency range, vast amounts of control points are required. If the discretization is coarser than required, a spatial aliasing would occur in the reproduced sound field. However, it has not been revealed how coarse discretization has an effect on the accuracy of sound field reproduction. By utilizing numerical simulation, this report presents a relation between the discretization spacing and physical accuracy of sound field reproduction in wave field synthesis.
