Recently, the phenomenon called Stochastic Resonance was found in a nonlinear system, and has been applied for many researches in various fields. In the previous study, we have verified that Stochastic Resonance appeared in CT images by adding white-Gaussian noise to CT images and found the suitable noise intensity which maximizes the contrast resolution in CT images. In this study, as further application of Stochastic Resonance, we have investigated whether or not the contour of a low contrast lesion in CT images reconstructed using the iterative reconstruction algorism was improved by this phenomenon. |
