High-Performance Buffering Algorithm of Multithread Architected VPN Software

(in English) IP-VPN software has been explosively used in recent years, while on the other hand, user can easily connect to high-bandwidth network. So it is necessary to enhance the performance of VPN software itself. VPN software has encryption and decryption process, which usually is the bottleneck of transmission performance. One of the methods to enhance the performance is parallelizing cryptography processes on multi-CPUs, however it may cause packet reorder which can affect user applications. Thus we have proposed a high performance buffering algorithm in order to avoid packet reorder. Additionally, we have implemented a prototype of this architecture and introduced it into an existed IP-VPN software. And a series of performance test can show the effectiveness of our algorithm.
