[Special Invited Talk] 40 Years of Organic Photonics and Electronics: Past and Future
Hiroyuki Sasabe (Chitose Inst. Sci. & Tech.) OME2014-82 Link to ES Tech. Rep. Archives: OME2014-82
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Organic materials including polymers have been used as passive elements (mostly insulators) in the early stage of electrical engineering, but expanded to the field of active electronic elements/devices and photonics in 1970s. The remarkable developments of their application to electrophotography, organic nonlinear optics, organic semiconductor device such as electroluminescence (OLED) and display, and organic solar cells have been reviewed. Future of organic photonics will be suggested.
