An Optical Network Configuration Method Considering End-to-End Latency in Data Center

(in English) In recent years, datacenters have needed to process large amounts of data because of various growing Internet services. In a datacenter, it is important to provide high performance and to reduce energy costs. Therefore, optical network technology is a solution for a datacenter network. It is required to configure large-scale datacenter optical network that performs transmission in low latency in a large amount of traffic.In this paper, we propose datacenter network configuration methods to reduce the end-to-end latency.We configure two datacenter optical networks with switches devided group and sub-group connected by full mesh network among groups, among sub-groups, and within sub-groups.We evaluate performance through simulation. As a result, proposed networks show high performance against Torus networks, and show a low configuration cost against FatTree networks.
