Waveform distorion is one of the phenomena that nonlinear systems have in common. Radiation pressure
is another common phenomenon that is generally observed in waves. Whereas, acoustic streaming is a specific
phenomenon in acoustic waves. This report describes these classical phenomena in nonlinear acoustics, i.e., wave
distortion, radiation pressure, and acoustic streaming, in terms of acoustic energy. Furthermore, the phenomena are
evaluated quantitatively by theory and experiment when highly focused airborne ultrasound beams pass through
the focus. |
