Antenna Configuration of 5G Ultra High Capacity Massive MIMO Transmission based on Outdoor Fundamental Experiment Trial at 44GHz Band

(in English) Recently, radio access technologies for the fifth generation (5G) in higher frequency bands have been extensively studied. The authors have proposed APAA-MIMO (Active Phased Array Antenna-MIMO) configuration combined APAA and digital MIMO processing. Based on the outdoor fundamental experiment trial at 44GHz band, this report shows channel capacity and frequency efficiency of APAA-MIMO with several antenna configurations, the distance among sub arrays, the number of stream, and the number of receive antenna.
