Long-term Variation of Solar Cell Output Current of the Akebono Satellite as a Function of Integrated Protons and Temperature

(in English) Output current of solar cells of any satellite decreases with accumulated damage of space radiations. The output current of Akebono satellite orbiting in the inner magnetosphere decreased from 13 A in 1989 to 7 A in 2009, which is caused mainly by trapped protons. Vast database built for long years are utilized for our modeling study. Temperature of solar cells, which is here empirically modeled, is another important factor to control the output current and we obtained the output current as a function of the solar cell temperature and integrated protons calculated from a model of spatial distribution. The result shows us more susceptibility to the temperature in later years, where the degradation of solar cells further proceeded due to large amount of integrated protons.
