Development of an Array GPR System YAKUMO for Large-scale Archaeological Survey and Disaster Mitigation
Lilong Zou, Kazunori Takahashi, Motoyuki Sato (Tohoku Univ.) SANE2015-69
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, an array GPR system which consists of eight transmitting and eight receiving antennas was developed. It is a stepped frequency radar system operating in the frequency range from 50 MHz to 1.5 GHz. The wide frequency operation makes the system capable of detecting objects at a depth of up to 4 m with a high resolution. The system can record a full 64-channel dataset within 0.1 second and can cover a swath of 2 m by a single scan. These features make the developed array GPR system competent and efficient for large-scale archaeological investigations and disaster mitigation.
