Zometool Approximation of Non-Orientable Surfaces

(in English) Zometool approximation algorithm has been presented by Zimmer et al.. Zometool is an intellectual toy building a 3D shape with balls and stick parts. Their algorithm approximates orientable 2-manifold surfaces with Zometool models with Topology preservation, but it cannot be used for non-orientable 2-manifold or non-manifold models. Since Zometool is wireframe modeling, we can construct a non-orientable manifold with self-intersections by Zometool. In this paper, we improve the algorithm for orientable 2-manifolds in order to approximate non-orientable 2-manifolds and our algorithm can be extended to non-manifold models.
