Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Due to frequency occurrence of Typhon and heavy rain and the increase of the landslide disaster, using wireless networks and sensors for constructing the early-warning and status monitor system is one of the promising solutions. We will introduce the research project about the proposed wireless sensor network (WSN) system for slope failure detection. Compared with other systems, the proposed one builds a low-cost mountainside sensor network using the cheap or secondhand smartphones. These smartphones can be set without any complex designs which reduces the configuration cost and time of system design. This paper will explain the application scenarios and the properties of the proposed system. The major research items especially for WSN configuration will be explained in details.
