Vehicle Control System based on Mobile-Edge Computing -- Evaluation of driving performance in the case of network error --

(in English) Autonomous cars equipped with rich sensors can get little sensor information around themselves. We have proposed "Infrastructure-based vehicle control system", which aggregates sensor information from vehicles and controls vehicles from the cloud. Although, it can avoid a wide range of warning, it has to process various network problem derived from Internet. In this paper, we apply Mobile-Edge Computing(MEC) to "Infrastructure-based vehicle control system". We implement a prototype system with micro-cars and evaluate the accuracy of vehicle control in case of network anomalies. As a result, we show that long latency reduce the accuracy of vehicle control from the cloud and vehicle control from the edge-server can retain high accuracy in spite of long latency.
