End-to-End Multicast Congestion Control in Data Center Networks

(in English) In data centers, multicast communications will play an important role for distributing OS update and shared data for social networking services to large number of specified receivers. Data center networks generally operate at high utilization, and congestion will be observed on multiple links in each multicast tree. Multicast congestion control should be important technical issues but there has not been published any paper on end-to-end multicast congestion control, to the best of authors’knowledge. In this paper, we propose a new end-to-end multicast
congestion control for data center networks, DCMC(Data Center Multicast Congestion control). DCMC is designed to share bottleneck link bandwidth fairly with DCTCP which will be widely used in data centers. Simulation results show that our proposed DCMC has friendliness towards DCTCP.
