Implementation and Evaluation of Pointing Techniques for Large Displays Using a Smartphone Embedded with Multiple Sensors

(in English) Recently, large high-resolution displays are becoming increasingly widespread. We propose fast and precise two-mode pointing techniques for large displays using ray-casting and a gyroscope. In the techniques, we use natural feature tracking by a smartphone camera to estimate the device pose for ray-casting. We compare our thchniques with an existing technique that solely uses a gyroscope through a pointing task. The results show that while the average task completion time is not significantly different, the proposed techniques reduce the number of error clicks.
