Improvement of Reliability in the Operation Support System for IP Networks against Large Scale Disasters

(in English) IP-based network operations support system for the mobile communication network is a large-scale monitoring system that monitors the various types of network equipment. In recent years, it has become a very important social infrastructure with the spread of smartphones. However, the legacy system has a simple redundancy at the single site. If its site and transmission pass were destroyed by a large-scale disaster, it is difficult to monitor the network equipment continuously. After the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, further reliability improvement measures are promoted in the mobile communication networks. Therefore we introduce new redundancy scheme that placed a redundant configuration in geographically separate site for a disaster recovery called 2 site 1system.
This paper describes an overview and implementation method of this operation support system.
