Vessel tracking from 3D CT images based on 2D cross-section analysis

(in English) This paper proposes a segmentation method of complex vascular structures based on three-dimensional vessel tracking and two-dimensional cross-section analysis, which is characterized by (1) automatic selection of threshold values for a Canny edge filter, and (2) elimination of higher-intensity interference vessels based on our radial suppression filter. The proposed method was applied to actual early-phase abdominal CT images, and several experimental results are shown.
