Effective basis learning for sound source separation by semi-supervised nonnegative matrix factorization

(in English) This paper addresses a sound source separation problem and proposes an effective basis learning method for semi-supervised nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF). A conventional semi-supervised NMF has a critical problem that pre-learned spectral bases for a target source have a risk to represent another undesired source degrading the separation performance. To solve this problem, in a training stage, we propose to employ other supervised bases that can be obtained by a maximization of the separation ability. The efficacy of the proposed method is experimentally confirmed with a music source separation task.
