This paper presents a dynamic tracking algorithm for unknown radio emitters in urban environments utilizing particle filters. Our previously proposed localization technique for unknown emitters suffered from high computational complexity due to necessity of interpolating training fingerprints in several domains, and also due to the brute-force search during pattern matching. In this paper, particle filters are introduced as a means to reduce computational load as well as perform dynamic tracking of a moving unknown emitter. Several modifications of the conventional particle filter are proposed, including an algorithm to narrow down the support of the prior distribution. Simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm could greatly reduce computational load without sacrificing much localization accuracy. |
