Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Since the discovery of microwave-heating of metal powder, a number of studies have been conducted. Because it can heat various substances more efficiently than conventional heating, microwave-heating is highly expected to be applied for industry. In this study, we designed a microwave-heating device of titanium powder for mass production and investigated the optimal size of the device by electromagnetic simulation. Due to the difficulty of simulating titanium powder which has complicated structure, the bulk titanium oxide is applied as its alternative. The results gave us the suitable size for efficient heating and showed that paralleling devices can reduce the passing energy at the openings.
