Simulation of STO for microwave-assisted magnetic recording (3) -- Optimum injected current of integrated STO --

(in English) Micromagnetic analysis was carried out for the spin-torque oscillator (STO) used for microwave-assisted magnetic recording (MAMR) and the optimum injected current density (Jopt) was obtained. Three structures (cylinder, cylinder with cut and cuboid with cut) were considered as STO and inserted into a write head. If Jopt was assumed to be that where the angle between the FGL and RL magnetization = 80 – 85˚, then Jopt for the cylinder was 30% smaller than that of the cuboid with cut, which coincided with the isolated model. When Jopt was assumed to be the current which made the angle between the FGL and RL magnetization = 90˚, Jopt was the same for all three structures. We also compared the clockwise (CW) and counter clockwise (CCW) components of the STO field in the medium.
