Generation of a generalized cat state at finite temperature

(in English) Superpositions of macroscopically distinct states (which we call “generalized cat states”), such as Schrödinger's cat state, have not only been of interest for a long time to many people, but also been longed for their realization in the field of quantum information as a resource. We have found that in a quantum spin system at finite temperature, “generalized cat states” can be generated through the measurement of the z component of magnetization of an equilibrium state in a magnetic field parallel to the x-axis. This comes from the cooperative effect of non-commutativity between Hamiltonian and magnetization and a huge number of macroscopic states that is determined by the number of possible combinations.
