[Poster Presentation] A Study on Feature Quantities of Mobile Communication Quality Variation for RTT Time Series

(in English) Mobile communication quality degradation often occur such as long Web loading time and stop play-back of movies, where many people gather such as event venues and stations. In order to deal with the degradation of communication quality, it is effective to visualize communication quality and predict fluctuation of it. In this paper, we focus on Round Trip Time (RTT) which is a primary quality index that affects mobile communication quality and we examine the feature quantities of RTT time series data expressing the quality variation. In order to improve communication quality, it is necessary to grasp the trend of fluctuation quantitatively. However, each RTT sample has non-stationarity character, and it is hard to capture the macro variation of quality. Therefore, we propose new feature quantities that express the quality state by the distribution shape of RTTs measured within a given period. It is expected that quality variation can be quantified and can be predicted by using these feature quantities. In this paper, we show the result of visualizing the proposal RTT feature quantities using the result of measurements in the real environment, and the result of comparative evaluation of the characteristics with general distribution feature quantities.
