On Gradient Characteristics of Adaptive Notch Filters Based on Monotonically Increasing Gradient Algorithm

(in English) This paper discusses the gradient characteristics of adaptive notch filters based on Monotonically Increasing Gradient (MIG) algorithm. In the literature that proposed the MIG algorithm, it was claimed that the gradient term in the MIG algorithm shows monotonically increasing characteristics. However, our study has revealed that the existing theory on the gradient characteristics of the MIG algorithm is incorrect, and that its gradient characteristics do not become monotonically increasing for input signals including white noise. In this paper we demonstrate this fact by some computer experiments.
