The finite element time domain (FETD) method using an explicit scheme for time-descretization has to satisfy a stability condition. In the case that the computational domain contains small structures, small time step size is required due to the strict stability condition and increases computational costs. In this report, a stabilized explicit FETD method is proposed by applying a stabilized method to the explicit FETD method based on Maxwell’s equations to remove the unstability and perform stable and fast analysis for an arbitrary time step size. |
