Electric and Magnetic Field Responses of Single-Electron Transistors Composed of Superconducting Island with Ferromagnetic Leads

(in English) We report electric and magnetic field responses of single-electron transistors (SETs) comprising ferromagnetic lead electrodes with a superconducting island. We fabricated two SETs, one of which had relatively high resistance and the other had relatively low resistance.
Measurements were executed at approximately 0.1 K in a compact dilution refrigerator. The SETs had two states for the gate charge: SET-ON or SET-OFF. It also had two states for the FM lead magnetization: parallel (P) or anti-parallel (AP) configuration. I-V characteristics of four SET states ("P & SET-ON," "P & SET-OFF," ``AP & SET-ON," and "AP & SET-OFF") were measured for both SETs. Magnetoresistance ratios (MRR) were then obtained for both SET-ON and SET-OFF states. The high-resistance SET1 exhibited positive MRR values for all bias voltages. The enhancement of MRR was confirmed for the SET-OFF state.The low-resistance SET2 exhibited negative and positive MRR values for high and low bias voltage conditions, respectively. The bias voltages for the polarity switching were changed by the gate charge.
