Bio-image sensor for multi-detection of ATP, ACh, and hydrogen ion -- Enhanced discrimination by hydrogen ion diffusion-barrier layers --

(in English) In our previous work, we reported a bio-image sensor for multi-detection of neurotransmitters such as adenosine triphosphate (ATP), acetylcholine (ACh) and hydrogen ion (H+). The sensor determines the biochemical by measuring the generated H+ by an enzymatic reaction at the enzyme-immobilized pixels. However, the produced H+ is easy to diffuse through electrolyte and detected at other nearby pixels. It makes difficult to distinguish between the produced and the diffused H+ from nearby enzyme-immobilized pixels. In this study, to improve the discrimination for detecting multi neurotransmitters, H+ diffusion-barrier layers are deposited and demonstrated with various thicknesses: 0, 1.8, and 3.6 μm
