[Poster Presentation] An objective image quality assessment based on contrast change

(in English) The CSIQ database is a database for image quality assessment (IQA). The database contains many test images obtained from 30 reference images, each having six types of distortion and three to five levels of noise for each distortion type. Because the scatter plot of the contrast change shows a tendency different from other noises, we will focus on the scatter plot of the objective evaluation score and the measured value of the subjective evaluation score obtained using the CSIQ database. Therefore, the objective evaluation method that takes into account the difference in noise type should be investigated. In the conventional method, the type of noise is not considered in the design of the estimation model of the subjective evaluation value. There is the potential for grow in the performance of the objective evaluation method by dividing the estimated model into the contrast change and other noise. The objective of this study is to improve the performance of the objective evaluation method. In this study, we conducted experiments using CSIQ database. The objective IQA used in this experiment was the Feature Similarity color (FSIMc). FSIMc is an IQA that corresponds to a color and is designed based on the human visual system. For the performance evaluation of the proposed method, a three-fold cross-validation test was used.Performance evaluation was carried out using the Pearson linear correlation coefficient (PLCC). The performance of the conventional method was 0.918. The performance of the proposed method was 0.958. Experimental results show that the performance of the objective evaluation method has been significantly improved by using the proposed method. The future task is to estimate the contrast change using machine learning.
