[Poster Presentation] Performacne of Packet Error Rate by Applying Hybrid ARQ to WLAN

(in English) Hybrid Automatic Repeat-reQuest (HARQ) is a combination of ARQ error control and forward error-correcting code (FEC). If receiver detects errors in the first received message, then the re-transmission (the second) of the same message is requested by the receiver. The simple method to implement HARQ is combining both log-likelihood ratio (LLR) information with the first and the second messages. In Wireless LAN(WLAN) system, however, the scramble seed changes at each transmission is permitted which causes the both scrambled messages to be different, thus there is no gain by combining the first and the second LLR information. This paper proposes the receiver architecture enabling HARQ in WLAN system. Simulation results show that proposed WLAN receiver enabling HARQ can gain over additive white gaussian noise (AWGN) and fading channels compared to the re-transmitted message without HARQ.
