The next generation information network is expected to further develop as a social infrastructure in all fields such as transportation, electricity, medical care, agriculture, and so on. With developing of the 5th generation mobile communication system (5G) and Internet of things (IoT), the network will go beyond the framework of conventional human-to-human information transmission means, and the subject of the user will change from "human" to "things" and/or "matters". Moreover, we believe that the network will evolve into "Massive Connect IoT", which will improve the intelligence of the network itself and create new value by analyzing big data from a huge number of nodes. In the wireless communication system constituting the Massive Connect IoT, various kinds of data are frequently exchanged among a huge number of nodes. Therefore, high efficiency of access control technologies and scheduling methods are indispensable, in addition to spectral efficiency, which has been regarded as the most important in conventional wireless systems. In this lecture, we describe the design of wireless communication network in Massive Connect IoT utilizing highly accurate time information and location information obtained from positioning signal of global navigation satellite system (GNSS). |
